From one amateur photographer to you, I have included photos I took in my city’s Water Works park, the Arie den Boer Arboretum, and Sherman Hill neighborhood. Spring in the midwest is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. The post-winter energy in the city is so palpable it made me get together with some friends and our fancy cameras and shoot some stuff.
I learned that 1) in the bright sun my best photos are in the shade, otherwise the color gets washed out 2) in order to take better photos you have to actually have your camera with you and shoot a lot 3) I start to automatically frame things I see and have a better eye for what makes a good photo, which led me to take the below photo of my friend the day after she got engaged. I wanted to capture the moment just in case she wanted to use it in her wedding album. 4) Still respecting people’s spaces, I shouldn’t be afraid to point and click!
